Brian Catlett

Brian Catlett is a 33 year old artist living in Sonoma County, California.   A San Francisco Bay area native, he creates work from his home studio inspired by a life spent in the beautiful state of California and its picturesque landscape.  Northern California residents may recognize the Santa Cruz mountains, Calistoga Palisades, Annadel State Park, and Sonoma valley vineyards featured in many of his paintings.

Oil paints and soft pastels create the lush landscapes, abstract organics,  and haunting portraits which are the primary focus of Brian’s art.  In addition to these techniques, Brian is self taught in other various media including glass etching, photography,  and watercolor.  His work has been described as surreal, beautiful, tragic, and unusual.

Brian’s art has been featured at various galleries including Fine Art and Frame in Santa Rosa, California and Elemental Arts in Portland, Oregon.  In August, 2008 he was a featured artist at in Portland’s First Friday Art Walk.
